Handout – Preserving Fruits and Vegetables Through Home Canning

This session will introduce you to the basics of canning, address safety concerns, and give you the confidence to start canning on your own. Participates will learn the basics of canning fruits and vegetables, which includes: materials and equipment needed, steps and hands-on practice for preparing the fruit or vegetable, and canning jars using the hot water bath method.

This session will have a $2 fee.

Amanda Garzio-Hadzick and Zane Hadzick

Zane and Amanda are a husband and wife team who love good food, gardening, and home canning. Amanda grew-up helping her parents can homemade tomato sauce, salsa, and hot peppers. Currently, Amanda and Zane mainly preserve summer fruits to enjoy year-round.
